Suppose that this relay has a tap set for 4.0 A and the relay sees a current of 6.0 A; the relay contacts will close in a time between 1.5 seconds (time dial setting = 1/2) up to 60 seconds (time dial setting = 11). If, however, the overcurrent is 20 times the tap setting, the time range would be from .03 to .45 seconds.
