The insulation system is an assembly of insulating materials in association with conductors and the supporting structural parts of a motor. Insulation systems are divided into classes according to the thermal endurance of the system. Four classes of insulation systems are commonly used in motor designs, namely classes A, B, F, and H. Do not confuse these class labels with motor design designations which are also designated by letters.
