1.0 &= nbsp; JOB SUMMARY

This posit= ion is responsible for the strategy, development, maintenance, management, documentation and compliance of all Health and Safety (�H&S�) programs,= procedures and training systems.

2.0 &= nbsp; AUTHORITIES

�&nb= sp; Exercise authority designated General Manager and/or government legislation with res= pect to H&S and Training issues.

3.0 &= nbsp; PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

�= = Develop, implement, schedule, monit= or and report on H&S and Training programs to ensure the following:

� = Compliance of staff and subcontractors with all H&S policies and requirements, both internal and external (customer, supplier, contractor and governments)

� = Support in development and continuous improvement of H&S operational procedures, techniques, procedures, manuals, forms

� = Task and site condition assessments to determine employee skill/experience/train= ing requirements, including Fall Arrest, WHMIS, Lockout/Tag-out

� = Maintenance and communication of a Training Matrix detailing staff qualifications to perform electrical and operational tasks

� = Orientation of new and returning employees prior to commencement of work

� = Management of subcontractor evaluations, documentation and recall systems

� = Support of Joint H&S Committee=

� = Conducting of regular staff H&S and Training meetings, including agendas, minutes, reviews and follow-up

� = Management, custody and control of H&S documents and templates, both electronic and hard copy

� = Monitoring and communication of government legislation (e.g. CSA)

� = Development of effective WSIB programs, including NEER, Form 7s, Return to Work, Safety Audits, Safety Group=

� = Management of facility H&S requirements, including Environmental and Ergonomics

� = Apprentice training/cross-training program, including Standards Booklets, Young Worker awareness and training

� = Participation in H&S associations, including= training opportunities

� = Safe use of required PPE, including Arc Flash apparel

� = Safe operation, maintenance, documentation and reporting of vehicles, equipment and tools

� = Effective and well-documented shift tail-gate meetings

� = Spills, accidents, incidents and injuries, including �near misses� and First Aid

� = Development of an Emergency Response Plan

� = Support effective cross-functional = relationships and communications with Sales, Operations, Engineering= and Finance & Administration

Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by t= he General Manager or President, or as requested by other management and st= aff, as required.� These duties will inc= lude representation of the company in a professional manner.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION��

Required: ��

Train the Trainer courses/accreditations

Supervisory training

Electrical industry and safety associations training

�� Preferred:

�� Construction & Maintenance Electrician (309A)

Post-Secondary Diploma Degree (Electrical/Engineering)

Business courses=

EXP= ERIENCE

Required:

Minimum five (5) years experience in engineering/electrical industry

Development and managem= ent of people and projects

Preferred:

�� = Utilities exposure

�� = Understanding of financial responsibility, costing/pricing and reporting

Human resources managem= ent

ISO 9000 / Quality / �Continuous Improvement� programs

EQUIPMENT
